We were tasked with export market discovery and market research to discover the next 5 most suitable export markets for the business to enter. Because we only started with their digital product, there were no restrictions in terms of market location. We looked at all countries to find the best one.
It had to be a country with:
- A strong, trustworthy legal system with set out processes for alimony processing.
- A target audience with the right purchasing power.
- Spousal maintenance culture.
Our research included feedback surveys, in-depth online reading of forums, blogs, news, legal systems, etc. to find the top 50 countries we could start to A/B test. We then implemented detailed website tracking systems to measure all interactions people took on the site.
In terms of advertising, used mostly Google Ads, Yahoo Ads, Microsoft Ads, Baidu Ads, and social media ads to target lookalike audiences of previous customers. This allowed us to be more targeted in our persona testing.
After 4 months, we found the most suitable countries to be: Malaysia, Finland, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong SAR.
